In 2024, Morningside United Church (located at 15 Chamberlain Road) participated in the Edinburgh Doors Open Days for the first time
The church participated as part of the “Architectural Heritage” theme, offering free access to visitors during the afternoon:
- Architecture & Tours: Visitors could explore the Sanctuary, church halls, and the Peace Garden.
- Art Exhibition: The church hosted an exhibition by Edinburgh Urban Sketchers, which ran from 14 September to 5 October 2024. This included interpretations of the church and garden, with original works for sale.
- Heritage Displays: Information was provided about the church’s connections to Eric Liddell and his work in China, as well as its modern links with the Romanian and Ukrainian communities.
